Anzio

Fourth stop: ANZIO, Italy

Hey! Do you know Nero? Of course you do! And do you know where was he born? Exactly, in Anzio! This small town is located in the ‘heart of Italy’, in Lazio region, 50 kilometres from Rome. That’s the place where Nero and Caligula were born many years ago and till today we can admire there remains of their villa situated on the beach. To be honest, it’s the best place to see the beautiful sunset as well!

In addition to Nero’s villa and his statue, there are more reasons to visit Anzio. The town is well known because of the Battle of Anzio, so the Allied forces landing. The inhabitants of the town remember this event till today, so if you want to know something more about it, just ask someone there or go to Museo dello Sbarco di Anzio (Landing Museum of Anzio). Then, it’s worth to see the port full of boats and of course la piazza, typical, Italian square with fountain, situated in the city centre.

It’s the most important place in every, Italian city, especially in small town like Anzio. People meet there every day just to talk and drink something. After the whole day of sunbathing and swimming in the sea, you should go to the one of many restaurants and first try seafood and then the best ice-cream in the world!

Viareggio

Second stop: VIAREGGIO, Italy

My first stop was in northern Poland, so now it’s a high time to change a little bit direction and visit eastern Italy. Welcome to Viareggio!
Three years ago I decided to become an au pair for the first time and thanks to this program, I discovered Viareggio. It’s a place located at the seaside, so if you adore sunbathing and fresh seafood, you should definitely go there! It’s a typical, seaside town, that’s why you will find there a beautiful, big port with hundreds of boats.

What’s more, it’s a real touristic city, so you can take part in lots of events, like Color Run, or just go to the club. In this point it’s worth to mention that Italians are really open minded and helpful nation, so if you get lost somewhere or just need advice, they’re always willing to help you. If it goes about events, not everyone knows that Viareggio has a really long and interesting story related to carnival. What’s more, they celebrate carnival in August as well! It’s a great opportunity to get to know Italian culture and understand a little bit their way of living and thinking!

Hi!

Have you ever wondered why there are so many people who love travelling? If not, read my blog and for sure you will find here the answer faster than you think.

First stop: BYDGOSZCZ, Poland

I always thought that there were lots of countries more impressive than Poland but after a few trips abroad I realized that my country should be located on the same level as the rest of European 'beauties'. That's why I'd like to tell you something interesting about my favourites Polish cities and other Europaen places which I was able to visit.  So, get to know these top cities!

They say 'there's no place like home'. Do you think it's true? Of course! That's why I decided to dedicate the first post to MY Bydgoszcz, located in the northern Poland. Many polish habitants consider it as a dirty and neglected city. Well, it's true that you won't find there thousands of ancient monuments but anyway, I'm pretty sure that you will like it.
The trip begins on the Mill Island - amazing place situated in the city center. There are many benchs to sit on and admire a breathtaking view for the river Brda, Opera and well-known gothic St. Martin and St. Nicholas Cathedral. It's a perfect place to relax or to spend a day off just enjoying the events taking place there.

Next, it's worth to make a short walk through the old town where you can find a big monument commemorating Poles died in thr war. Right from the old town, you should go on Mostowa street, passing old Granaries on the ritght. From the bridge you'll see a beautiful view of the city with monumental post office's bulding in the background. Just to finish a short trip through the old town, go on Gdańska street where you will find many, cozy restaurants, beautiful buldings and the best ice-cream in the city! If it's not enough for you, I recommend you a long walk along the Bydgoszcz Canal or in Myślęcinek - the huge park with Zoo and lots of attractions.

So, if you're still not convinced, I can just add that I like this city because of many red-bricks buildings that make this city really atmospheric. What's more, the old town is situated in the valley so it takes only a few minutes to climb even on the small hill and see a magnificent view of the city center.

So take a train or your car and visit Bydgoszcz!
