Hey!
Tuscany, Chianti, art – welcome to Florence!
I spent there only one day, so unfortunately
I hadn’t enough time to see all the monuments and to get to know all the
secrets of this city but it was enough to visit the most important places and
to discover some interesting facts about Florence. If you don’t remember, it’s
the capital of the Tuscany, the most breathtaking region of Italy.
This city is
well known all over the world because of many artists and poets that lived
there, for example Dante or Leonardo da Vinci. Visiting Florence, you need to see the cathedral
of Santa Maria del Fiore, located in
the city centre, the bridge called Ponte
Vecchio situated on the Arno river – it’s worth seeing it not only because
it’s beautiful and really well conserved but it seems to be composed of many
small ‘apartaments’ that in fact are shops! Then you should see
the church of Santa Maria Novella, Palazzo
Vecchio and Galeria degli Uffizi, one of the oldest European museum; you can
find there the artworks of Carvaggio, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci or Piero
della Francesca etc.
As always, after the whole day of discovering Florence, I recommend you tasting delicious wine and Italian ice-cream!
In my opinion this is one of
those cities that surprises you every time you visit it!
